What a way cool show! I was so excited I could hardly wait for it to start Friday night, two nights of show and a day photographing incredible fashion creations – too good.
We were wowed by a constant parade of fashion and grooving models on Friday and Saturday night, but during the day on Saturday I got to photograph the creations at their finest. It isn’t until you get close up to these costumes that you can appreciate the incredible input of time and skill that has gone into creating them. There’s probably a few people around who will pleased to have their partners back again and no costume materials lying all around the house.
I’m just setting up some gear ready for the weekend, it’s going to be a goodie at Kaikoura – Trash to Fashion show, we didn’t have one last year and I’m overdue for a fix.

I’ve always enjoyed car racing, have never done it except around the cow paddocks in the ute, but the sounds, smells and excitement of racing can make people come for miles.
I’ve photographed the Kaikoura Queens birthday speedway for a year or two now and it’s a project I look forward to, it’s always exciting and always fun.
I decided to do a driver profile this year, follow the weekend racing with one of the drivers, it didn’t quite turn out how he planned but it was still all good fun.
We even had a couple of TV celebs rock up to join the fun and enjoy the food!
