A look at a couple of the jobs from this week…..

Damn computers!
I just noticed there’s a javascript hiccup when you try to look at single images when there’s a slideshow post on the same page. Probably best to open the post you want to view in its own window and I’ll see if I can fix this some time!
Making an itty bitty bit of difference.
I made a 25,140.00 Indian rupee TT last Friday, no I didn’t get scammed by one of those emails that shows up every second day and I didn’t buy anything off ebay. It was annual school fee sponsorship for a girl who goes to Lamdon Model School at Leh, Ladakh up in the Indian Himalayas. Twenty five thousand rupees sounds like a small fortune, it worked out to NZ$780.87 and it certainly buys a lot. It allows a child who may not have had a chance to get an education by helping subsidise schooling, books, meals and accommodation. Some of these kids come from incredibly remote areas and some of them will be among the few from the villages to get a formal education.
The money I send goes straight to the Lamdon School bank account, no agencies skimming off their admin overheads, so there is maximum bang for the buck. You can’t help everyone in this world, but it’s good to know at least one little girl is getting a good chance. And just to get this whole thing in perspective, I reckon we spend close to this amount on C4 coffee beans each year at our house – Shame!
If you feel inclined to make an itty bitty bit of difference at Lamdon Model School shoot me an email and I’ll put you in touch with Eshey, the principal at Lamdon. Julley.
